For the implementation of a Foundation Project by IFA under Explorations which will explore the making of a performance with a speculative fiction text in Kannada, on the life of an epigraphist. The outcome of the project will be a performance based on a speculative fiction of an imaginary conversation with an epigraphist. The Project Coordinator’s deliverables to IFA with the final report will be audio-visual documentation of the performance. Project funds will pay for contract fees, travel and living, performance, stationery and printing, and purchase of books.
For the implementation of a Foundation Project by IFA that will engage fifth, sixth, and seventh grade students of Government Higher Primary School in Kalkere village, Hassan district with the traditional practice of tingalu mavana habba – a celebration of the rain gods - by connecting it to their curriculum in social science, mathematics, and languages. Students will explore songs and stories based on this practice, while creating their own. The outcome of this project will be a series of performances. The Project Coordinator’s deliverables to IFA with the final report will include still and video documentation of the process and the series of performances. Project funds will pay for contract fees, performance, travel and living, workshop, documentation, food, materials, and stationery.
For a wide-ranging engagement with fourth to seventh grade students of the Government Higher Primary School in Dindaguru village in Hassan district with a local folk art form Somana Kunitha – a ritualistic masked dance, prevalent in this region. The students will train in this form through workshops and apply it in the texts in their curriculum. The outcome will be a performance in the presence of school staff and community members. The Grantee's deliverables to IFA with the Final Report will be photographs and video documentation of the project. Grant funds will pay for costs towards an honorarium, performance, professional, workshop, travel, documentation and an accountant’s fee.
