For a series of storytelling sessions for fifth, sixth, and seventh grade students of the Government Primary School in Angadibail, Uttara Kannada district, involving teachers and members of three tribal communities in the Gokarna-Ankola region. The project aims to document and revitalise the disappearing oral traditions of these communities, while creating a deeper and richer learning experience for the students. It will connect their learning in the classroom to their own cultural and social contexts, through the creation of an illustrated storybook, and audio and textual documentation of these traditions. The outcome will be an exhibition in the school. The Grantee's deliverables to IFA with the Final Report will include the illustrated storybook, audio and textual documentation of the stories along with video and still documentation of the process and the exhibition. Grant funds will pay for costs towards an honorarium, professional fees, travel, printing, accommodation, an exhibition, stationery and an accountant’s fee.
