Project Period: One year three months

For the implementation of a Foundation Project by IFA which will engage sixth grade students of the Government Higher Primary School, Kurtakoti, in Gadag taluk, Gadag district. This 15-month project Videshi Hhakkigala Taana is centred around the Magadi Bird Sanctuary. Home to diverse birds, this project explores the ecological significance of bird migration through visual, theatre and language arts with the aim of helping students to observe and connect with the natural world around them. The outcome of the project will be a publication, exhibition and performance in the school. The Project Coordinator’s deliverables to IFA along with the final report will be a copy of the publication, photographs and the video documentation of the entire project. Project funds will pay for contract fees, performance, travelling living and stationery.

Project Period: One year

For the implementation of a Foundation Project by IFA that will engage eighth grade students at the Government Higher Primary School in Hesaruru, Gadag district in a project titled Prakrutiya Nartana Rangam (Nature’s Dancing Theatre). In this project, students will explore and appreciate the rich heritage of the Kappatagudda hill.  By examining their relationship with nature and environment, the project seeks to connect these concerns to their curriculum in language and science. The outcomes of the project will be a series of performances, an exhibition and a publication. The Project Coordinator’s deliverables to IFA with the final report will be the publication, and photographs and video documentation of the entire project including the exhibition. Project funds will pay for contract fees, travel and living, performance, documentation, materials, publication and hire of equipment.

Grant Period: One year and three months

For a series of arts-based exploratory learning modules at the Government High School, S M Krishna Nagara, Gadag. The project will involve eighth-grade students in visual-arts-integrated activities involving subjects such as math and science. The activities will be centred on the ecology of a tree, exploring its nature and structure, the animals and insects that inhabit it, as well as its importance in the environment. The outcome of this project will be an exhibition and a publication titled Maravembudu Ondu Jaivika Vyavasthe (‘Tree is an Organic Ecosystem’)The Grantee’s deliverables to IFA with the final report will be a copy of the publication, photographs and video documentation of the project. Grant funds will pay for honorarium, workshop and material, documentation and printing, exhibition, professional fees, travel, and an accountant’s fee. 

This Grant was amicably cancelled based on reasons mutually agreed upon by the Grantee and IFA due to unavoidable circumstances.

Sankannavar Shankarappa Ramappa


Grant Period: One year

For a wide-ranging engagement with fifth, sixth, and seventh grade students of the Government Higher Primary School, Mugali, Ron Taluk, Gadag District to learn the original folk songs of Lavani and Geegi Pada, the content of which features  subjects such as earth, water, health, freedom fighters, and national leaders. The students will also be encouraged to engage in writing and singing select poems and stories from their textbooks in the style of these folk songs. The outcome will be a series of performances. The Grantee’s deliverables to IFA with the Final Report will be audio-visual documentation of the workshops, images, and a 10-12 minute video documentation. Grants funds will pay for costs towards an honorarium, professional fees for resource persons, an exhibition, documentation, and an accountant’s fee.
