For a series of arts-based experiential learning modules at the Government Higher Primary School in Aaladahalli village in Shivamogga district. The project will involve students across classes in various visual and theatrical activities centered on the lakes in and around the region. The students will also map these lakes. The outcome of the project will be a series of performances and a group discussion titled Beladingalalli Kereyangaladi (Activities around the lake on a full moon night). The Grantee's deliverables to IFA with the Final Report will include photographs and video documentation of the project. Grant funds will pay for costs towards an honorarium, professional fees, documentation, exhibition and performance, material, preparation, and an accountant’s fee.
For a grant to introduce a research based experience of exploring history for a higher primary school, by conducting one such study of a local chieftain by the name Shivappa Nayaka in Shivamogga district, Karnataka.
For examining the differences between the performances of prasangas in Yakshagana that are presented in shorter durations and those that continue through the night. The project will study how this variation in time affects pedagogy, the training of Bhagavatas and actors, and the conceptual and aesthetic concerns of the form as it is performed and viewed. The outcome of this project will be a monograph.
