Conflict of Interest Guidelines

Since many of the former and present donors, trustees and employees of IFA are luminaries in their respective artistic fields, the IFA considers it prudent to lay down these conflict of interest guidelines, to help manage any potential conflicts of interest with respect to the grant/project programs of IFA. These Guidelines shall be applicable to all of the categories of persons listed below:

1. Employees

1.1. During Employment with IFA

  1. Employees of IFA are not eligible to apply for any grant/project for the duration of their employment with IFA.
  2. Immediate family, i.e. the parents, siblings, spouse and children (collectively, “Immediate Family”) of such employees, shall not be eligible to apply for any grant/project for the duration of such employee’s employment with IFA.
  3. Any organisation or organisations where an employee of IFA is either on the board of or where such employee participates in any other decision-making capacity, shall not be eligible to apply for any grant for the duration of such employee’s employment with the IFA.

1.2. On Termination/Cessation of Employment with IFA

  1. An employee shall not be eligible to apply for a grant/project until the completion of two (2) years from the termination or cessation of employment with IFA.
  2. Immediate Family of such employees are permitted to apply for a grant/project from IFA only on completion of two (2) years from the termination or cessation of such employee’s employment with IFA.
  3. Any organisation or organisations where such employee is either on the board of or where such employee participates in any other decision-making capacity, shall not be eligible to apply for a grant until the completion of one (1) year from the termination or cessation of such employee’s employment with IFA or cessation of the employee in such role in the concerned organisation, whichever is later.

2. Trustees

2.1. During their tenure as Trustees

  1. Trustees are not eligible to apply for any grant/project during their term on the Board of IFA.
  2. Immediate Family of such Trustees, shall not be eligible to apply for any grant/project for the duration of such Trustee’s tenure on the Board of IFA.
  3. Any organisation or organisations where such a Trustee is either on the board of or where such Trustee participates in any other decision-making capacity, shall not be eligible to apply for a grant during the continuation of such Trustee on the Board of the IFA.

2.2. Post their tenure as Trustees

  1. A Trustee shall not be eligible for a grant/project until the completion of three (3) years from the date of cessation of their trusteeship in the IFA.
  2. Immediate Family of such Trustees are permitted to apply for a grant/fellowship from IFA only on the completion of three (3) years from the date of cessation of their trusteeship in the IFA.
  3. Any organisation or organisations where such a Trustee is either on the board of or where such Trustee participates in any other decision-making capacity shall not be eligible to apply for a grant until the completion of one (1) year from the date of cessation of their trusteeship in the IFA or cessation of the Trustee in such role in the concerned organisation, whichever is later.

3. Donors

Friends of IFA” shall mean those donors who have contributed a sum not greater than Rupees Fifty Thousand Only (INR 50,000/-) as a general contribution, or to a specific programme, or the corpus of IFA.

Friends for Life” shall mean those donors who have contributed a sum more than Rupees Fifty Thousand Only (INR 50,000/-), but less than Rupees One Lakh (INR 1,00,000/-) as a general contribution, or to a specific program, or the corpus of IFA.

Donor Patrons” are those donors who have contributed more than Rupees One Lakh (INR 1,00,000/-) as a general contribution, or to a specific program, or the corpus of IFA

Institutional Donors” are those donors that are in the nature of corporate bodies, trusts, societies, partnerships’ etc., that contribute towards a general contribution, or a specific program, or the corpus of the IFA.

  1. Friends of IFA are eligible to apply for a grant/project, only on expiry of one (1) year from the expiry of the tenure of their donation.
  2. Friends for Life are eligible to apply for a grant/project, only after three (3) years from the date of such donation.
  3. Donor Patrons are eligible to apply for a grant/project only after five (5) years from the date of such donation.
  4. Institutional Donors are not eligible to apply for a grant during the pendency of their financial support to IFA. Institutional Donors are eligible to apply for a grant only on the expiry of one (1) year from the date on which IFA submits a financial report with respect to the utilisation of such Institutional Donor’s funding. It is hereby expressly clarified that such financial report shall only be finalised and submitted to the Institutional Donor on completion of such project/funding obligation.
  5. Employees of an Institutional Donor or persons functioning in a decision-making capacity within such Institutional Donor are eligible to apply for a grant/project, only on the expiry of one (1) year from the date on which IFA submits a financial report with respect to the utilisation of such Institutional Donors’ funding or on expiry of one (1) year from the severance of their employment/service with such Institutional Donor.
