Internship Opportunity at the IFA Archive | Deadline Extended: December 19, 2024 (CLOSED)
India Foundation for the Arts (IFA) is inviting applications for an intern to assist the IFA Archive team in Bangalore from January 02 to March 31, 2025. This is a full-time, paid internship opportunity.
IFA is an independent, nationwide, not-for-profit, organisation that makes grants and implements projects across practice, research and education in the arts and culture in India. Set up as a Public Charitable Trust in 1993, IFA has been making grants and implementing projects since 1995.
Launched in 2018, The IFA Archive is a space that holds the diverse materials of the projects supported and implemented by IFA over the years, currently featuring materials from more than 586 projects online. We also host Date with the Archive, a series of talks by artists across different practices who use archives extensively for their creative work, and The IFA Archive Podcast, which explores a project’s journey through the years.
IFA Archive Internship Responsibilities:
- Assist the Archive team in organising and cataloguing physical archival materials.
- Aid the team in verifying and cross checking archival materials using metadata.
- Prepare physical materials for long-term preservation and storage, whilst creating metadata.
- Collaborate with the team in conceptualising and organising archive-related events.
Stipend: Rs 9000 per month
Term: Three months, from January 02 to March 31, 2025
Location: Bangalore
Qualifications:
- Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in Arts/Humanities/Social Sciences.
- Applicants must be proficient in MS Excel and Google Sheets.
- Interest in the arts and culture is desirable.
