Call for Registration for SMART workshop in Bikaner | June 28-30, 2019 (CLOSED)

Have you ever felt that you could do the most amazing things in theatre?

That you had all these brilliant ideas and energy and ability, BUT there were always things
pulling you back -- not enough funds, not enough audience, not enough time from your group...
and the list goes on...

Then SMART is for you!

So register today! Deadline for registration is on or before Friday, June 21, 2019

SMART is Strategic Management in the Art of Theatre, a collaborative initiative, managed by India Foundation for the Arts and Junoon.

Why SMART?
As a theatre group, we have a vision and dreams, passion and commitment. What we often find challenging is being able to create a practical roadmap that will help us realise these dreams.

SMART is a three-day workshop that seeks to sharpen the thinking and working processes of theatre groups. The programme poses questions and possibilities that will push groups to consider how you might optimize your strengths, overcome constraints and make a significant and positive impact on the internal functioning of your group as well as impact your local theatre ecology.

What is special about SMART?
SMART builds on the experience and knowledge within the theatre community, while also drawing upon international learnings and experience to add strength and value to our theatre-making. It is facilitated by some of the country's leading theatre makers and arts managers, and, is the first programme especially tailored for the needs of theatre in India.

SMART is coming to Bikaner, Rajasthan! The facilitators for this workshop are -
Sudhanva Deshpande (Actor and Director, Jana Natya Manch and Executive Director, Studio Safdar)
Menaka Rodriguez (Head, Resource Mobilisation and Outreach, India Foundation for the Arts, Bangalore)
Ashish Mehta (Administrative Head and Actor with Aasakta Kalamanch, Pune)

Who can register for SMART?
Theatre groups from all over India

How much does it cost?
The fee for this three-day workshop is a nominal Rs. 1,500/- per participating individual. This is to cover basic costs of the workshop including refreshments during the workshop.

Theatre groups from outside Bikaner are welcome to register. In case you are travelling from out of town to attend SMART, you will need to organise your own travel and accommodation.
If you need assistance in booking your accommodation, Anurag Kala Kendra can coordinate with the hotel that is also the workshop venue. The charges for accommodation will be extra.
