Call for Registration for SMART workshop in Bangalore | April 12-14, 2019 (CLOSED)

Have you ever felt that you could do the most amazing things in theatre?

That you had all these brilliant ideas and energy and ability, BUT there were always things
pulling you back -- not enough funds, not enough audience, not enough time from your group...
and the list goes on...

Then SMART is for you!

SMART is Strategic Management in the Art of Theatre, a collaborative initiative, managed by India Foundation for the Arts and Junoon.

Why SMART?
As a theatre group, we have a vision and dreams, passion and commitment. What we often find challenging is being able to create a practical roadmap that will help us realise these dreams.

SMART is a three-day workshop that seeks to sharpen the thinking and working processes of theatre groups. The programme poses questions and possibilities that will push groups to consider how you might optimize your strengths, overcome constraints and make a significant and positive impact on the internal functioning of your group as well as impact your local theatre ecology.

What is special about SMART?
SMART builds on the experience and knowledge within the theatre community, while also drawing upon international learnings and experience to add strength and value to our theatre-making. It is facilitated by some of the country's leading theatre makers and arts managers, and, is the first programme especially tailored for the needs of theatre in India.

The facilitators for this workshop are -
Arundhati Ghosh (Executive Director, India Foundation for the Arts)
Menaka Rodriguez (Head, Resource Mobilisation and Outreach, India Foundation for the Arts, Bangalore)
Neel Chaudhuri (Writer and Artistic Director, Tadpole Repertory, Delhi)
Sameera Iyengar (Co-Founder and Director, Junoon)

Who can register for SMART?
Theatre groups from all over India

How much does it cost?
The fees for this three-day course are a nominal Rs. 1,500/- per participating individual. This is to cover basic costs of the workshop.
Theatre groups from outside Bengaluru are welcome to register. In case you are travelling from out of town to attend SMART, you will need to organize your own travel and accommodation.
