SushmitaGulrajani graduated from the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Bangalore, with a degree in Design. She started her career as a product designer with livelihood projects that sought to provide financial independence to women, using recycled material to design upcycled marketable products. She also worked to streamline production lines for several NGOs. She then branched out as a freelance designer, and worked with textile print design, until she discovered her love for illustration and graphic design.
Sushmita is happiest in a forest, and spent two years working in the jungles of Mudumalai, Masinagudi. Though now based in Bangalore, she often travels to the place she considers home, always with a book or few, whenever she needs a fresh perspective. She believes the world is most beautiful when viewed through a black and white lens, and loves black and white anything, mainly photographs. She finds baking and western classical music therapeutic, enjoys dabbling in oils occasionally, and is enamoured by antique furniture.
