Join us for a Grant Showcase and Open House with artist-researcher and grantee, Bhagwati Prasad, and our programme officer for the Arts Research programme, Tanveer Ajsi, at the Chitnavis Centre, Nagpur.

Bhagwati will present from his ongoing project tentatively titled, Auzaron ki Chuppi aur Kolahal (Silence and Clamour of Tools), a graphic narrative and series of performances, on the untold stories of migrant labourers, and their tools. These stories provide perspectives from the experiences of workers who remain unseen and unheard, as they transform the history of the city of Delhi.

The IFA Open House is an informative and interactive session; Tanveer will be available to answer queries ranging from grant criteria, to the application process and more, while Bhagwati will share his stories, and experiences of applying to IFA.

Bhagwati is a Delhi based artist-researcher who has worked in graphics, performance, sculpture and video. Mostly working with the SARAI group at Centre for the Study of Developing Societies, and Raqs Media Collective, he has performed at various venues in Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai, Shanghai, Vienna, and Paris for a range of projects. As a graphic artist, he has two book length works under his name, Tinker.Soldier.Tap(2009), and The Water Cookbook (2010). Bhagwati represents a fresh new style of graphic storytelling from an approach that aims to engage with questions of labour, machinery, and work.
