Thursday, August 27, 2020 | 06:00 PM - 07:00 PM | Zoom

As the lockdown and call for physical distancing continue, we, at IFA, are discovering new ways of engaging with technology and online platforms to share the work of our grantees. We are delighted to introduce a virtual series of conversations, film screenings, and performances titled Throwback Thursdays with IFA, where everyone is welcome.

On Thursday, August 27, 2020, we are delighted to present a conversation with Jahanara, a teacher at the Government Higher Primary School, Mukta Gudadur, Koppala district in Karnataka. The session will be moderated by Radhika Bharadwaj, Assistant Programme Officer, Arts Education, IFA.

Jahanara received a grant from IFA, under the Arts Education programme made possible with support from Citi India.

The grant enabled Jahanara to conduct several arts-based exploratory learning modules at her school, involving the sixth to eighth-grade students in various craft, literary, and folk arts activities to explore and document the quilt making practices of the region.

Join us to hear Jahanara speak about her engagement with students, families, and neighbourhood communities from Gudadur, Gumagera, Ganganala and Sasvihala villages in Karnataka and the practice of quilt making as an expression of collective labour and aesthetics.
