IFA@Bangalore | Film Screening: Letters Unwritten to Naiyer Masud by Shahi AJ | March 16, 2023 | The Park, Bangalore

We are delighted to invite you to the screening of Letters Unwritten to Naiyer Masud by Shahi AJ on March 16, 2023, 07:30 PM onwards at The Park, Bangalore.

Interwoven with elements from documentary art and animation sequences, the film is a meditation on a place—the architecture of Lucknow—and derives its spatial imaginaries from the literary oeuvre of the Urdu literary figure Naiyer Masud. The film also takes on an epistolary form, with voiceovers from a group of admirers of Naiyer Masud's literary universe, who travel from South India to Lucknow as a pilgrimage. With this, the viewer is led into a space of fictional architectonics, literature and animation .

Shahi AJ (Writer, director) and Bharath Murthy (Animator) will be in conversation with John Xaviers, Programme Officer: Arts Practice at IFA.
