A dialogue on five selected art projects

Artists including Sheela GowdaPushpamala NM S UmeshTripura KashyapRaghavendra Rao,ShantamaniC F John with Sundar Sarukkai as moderator, will be part of a panel to dialogue about their experiences, and experiments with materials, forms, language and space, at a time when galleries and other institutions were still largely focussing on conventional forms like sculptures and paintings. Other artists whose projects will be represented are Ramesh Kalkur, Shamala, Srinivas Prasad, Azis T M, Ravisankar Rao, Amrish, Ramesh Chandra and Nandakishore.

The exhibition will be followed by a discussion on Bangalore's artistic contribution to this field from the beginning of the movement in the 1990s, where individual and collaborative explorations of installation, performance and sound art, resulted in novel connections with land, communities and public spaces. The artists will engage in a larger discussion about the context of the creation of their artwork, the motivation and challenges they faced, and the way they view the future of such art practices.

But wait, this evening is not over quite yet!
