Join us for an evening of ‘adda’, an informal conversation between Madhuja Mukherjee and a panel comprising Urvi Mukhopadhyay, Epsita Halder, Samim Ahmed, Sanjoy Mukhopadhyay and Sumona Chakravarty, as part of Madhuja’s project Route no. 033.

Route no. 033 is a creative project with photographs, images, videos, sounds, voices and noise, which will culminate in an installation in 2022. The installation will be preceded by a series of ‘addas’ of  which Talking Maps is the first.

A city is like a palimpsest with layered and intermeshed histories and maps. Some of the questions that this conversation will address are: How are cities or a city like Kolkata traversed by the people? How do we remember places following the erasure of the recognisable markers? How do we create our own emotional and intimate geographies? Can we say that: people themselves become places, marks and markers of our living map, just as our faces, decorated with the lines of memory, become the map of our passing?
