Join us as Shubham Roy Choudhury, Programme Executive talks to you about the history of IFA, the programmes under which we support various art projects, and how one can apply for grants. Come and discuss with us matters of art over cups of chai, along with questions you may have about our work, projects and applications. In addition, we are delighted to present a Grant Showcase with IFA Fellow Rongili Biswas on Friday, May 18, 2018 at 04:00 PM at the Dasharupak Cultural Organisation in Silchar, Assam.

Economist, Writer, and Musician Rongili will present on her research into the personal archives of her father, Hemango Biswas, a legendary musician and icon of the Assam IPTA (India People's Theatre Association) Movement. For this project, she studied the music and collaboration between two stalwarts of the movement—Hemango Biswas and Bhupen Hazarika during the period of the linguistic riots in Assam in the 1950s and 1960s, to unearth the important contribution and intervention that these figures made.

Rongili Biswas received an Archival Fellowship under the IFA Archival and Museum Fellowships initiative, made possible with support from Tata Trusts.
