Join us for a Grant Showcase and the IFA Open House with grantees Bhagwati Prasad and Anuradha Mangatram and our Programme Executive for Arts Research Tanveer Ajsi at the Savitribai-Jyotiba Phule Library, Museum and Research Centre, Kurukshetra.

Bhagwati will present his ongoing project tentatively titled Auzaron ki Chuppi aur Kolahal ("The Silence and Clamour of Tools"), a graphic narrative and series of performances on the untold stories of migrant labourers and their tools. These stories provide perspectives from the experiences of workers who remain unseen and unheard, as they transform the history of Delhi.

This project received a grant from India Foundation for the Arts, under the Arts Practice Programme.

Anuradha will present her ongoing research on the progressive transformation of Raagni in Haryana through its expression by women and Dalits. She will provide an overview of the socio-cultural and political circumstances that impacted and aided writers and performers of this art form. And, the role played by technology and the market in its dissemination and appropriation.

This project received a grant from India Foundation for the Arts, under the Arts Research Programme, with support from Sir Ratan Tata Trusts (SRTT).

Bhagwati Prasad is a Delhi-based artist and researcher who works with multiple mediums. He has two graphic novels—Tinker.Soldier.Tap (2009) and The Water Cookbook (2010) and his work engages with questions of labour and machinery.

Anuradha Mangatram is an actor and researcher based in Jind, Haryana.
