We are delighted to invite you to another session organised as part of Cross Currents, which is A Series of Curated Conversations on specific themes with a diverse group of artists, scholars, experts, and policymakers. The theme for January 2021 to March 2021 is Play as Practice.

The third session titled Learning Through Play / ಆಡೋ ಆಡೋ ಆಟಾ, ಹೇಳೋ ಹೇಳೋ ಎಂತಾ ಮಾಟ! with Ningu Solagi, Keerthivathi and Krishna Murthy TN will focus on why play matters in children's learning and education with reflections from their extensive teaching experience. The speakers will also explore the power of play in classrooms, and how through play, children can develop important skills and knowledge that support their ability to become focused, motivated learners and critical thinkers.

Ningu Solagi is the Head of SM Bhoomi Reddy Government Higher Primary School, Mundaragi, Gadag. He received a grant from IFA, under the Arts Education programme, towards a publication on homegrown games played by children between the ages of three and six. Read about the project here.

Keerthivathi is Block Inclusive Education Resource Teacher, Dharwad.

Krishna Murthy TN is Programme Officer of the Arts Education programme at IFA.
