City of Photos explores the little known ethos of neighborhood photo studios in Indian cities, discovering entire imaginary worlds in the smallest of spaces. Desires, memories and stories all so deeply linked to photographs all come together as a part of the personal journey into the city of photos.

ABOUT THE FILMMAKER
Nishtha Jain is a graduate from AJK Mass Communication Research Centre, Jamia Milia Islamia, New Delhi. She started her career as an editor and correspondent for video news magazines before joining the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), where she specialised in film direction. She works as an independent filmmaker in Mumbai.

About Last Ship
Last Ship is a non-profit venture of the Chennai-based Julius Macwan Institute and was founded in March 2011. Based in the Bandra area of Mumbai, Last Ship is a unique studio space right in the middle of the bustling Chuim Village off Khar Danda Road. It offers the space and means for the creation and exhibition of art projects, especially new and refreshing ones by young artists.
