Publications
Over the years, IFA has been publishing a wide range of material that reflect our commitment and engagement with the arts and culture. These publications are a way for us to share our work in the field on topical concerns and interests, with the public.
IFA published a Quarterly Newsletter on what's happening in the IFA arts community—with the latest on our grants, projects and initiatives, upcoming performances or presentations by grantees, updates from within the organisation, and a short interview with a grantee. This was discontinued in 2021, to pave way for Staying Connected, the revamped newsletter containing project outcomes available online, new projects, publications, information about previous and upcoming events, and what's new at IFA.
IFA also publishes an Annual Report—a summary of all IFA activities the past year—including programmes, events, grants made and projects implemented, with our annual financial report.
Other work published by IFA includes:
25 Interviews from 25 Years of Celebrating the Arts (2022) is a labour of love and an archive of rigorous work. The publication contains a selection of 25 conversations with grantees and project coordinators which IFA has published in its newsletters over many years.
Painters, Poets, Performers: The Patuas of Bengal (2017) is a visually rich and informative book on the history and evolution of Patachitra–literally, 'painting on cloth'–in Bengal. It provides an overview of this narrative tradition of pictorial storytelling and its multi-talented, polymath makers.

Embroidering Futures: The repurposing of Kantha (2012) traces the journey of kantha from its origins to its current avatar, through the tales and recollections of collectors, inheritors, designers and producers of this unique piece of embroidered cloth.
