Kanaka Murthy will talk about her experiences and insights as a woman sculptor in India, in a male-dominated domain. Her sculptures, carved in stone and bronze, depict poets, musicians, and Hindu gods and goddesses. She will discuss her creative journey and relationship with sculpture, as one of the country's few traditional woman sculptors to have her images worshipped in temples; the styles and artistic form and medium of sculpture; the iconography and symbolism of her works in stone; and her inspirations.

Musician Rumi Harish (Sumathi) who will talk about his journey into Hindustani classical music both as an act of rebellion against his Brahmanical upbringing and of entering the worlds of feminism, queer feminism, trans feminism, class, and caste in relation to music, gender, and histories.
