Bangalore International Centre (BIC)
India Foundation for the Arts (IFA) is delighted to invite you to a rich and exciting gathering of creative practitioners, artists, curato
Today, we have a keynote by Urvashi Butalia that will remind us of forgotten histories and ways of seeking and knowing and panel discussions about photography as a medium of research and the ways to understand the cultural practice of rituals in India. The two film screenings explore the lives of women through their poetry and songs, and what this art means in the world today. We bookend the day with two performances, the first of which is a representative of Tamil Nadu - a folk art form performed for the god Sudalai, and the second with songs inspired by the Angry Poets of Manipur of the 1960s. Our exhibition, open on all days, also has walkthroughs with two artists about their works on the Natua Naach of Bihar, and the changing nature of the Art Deco architectural style of Delhi.
Catch all of these, and much more, at the festival!
Read the schedule for Day 1 below or download the full schedule here. Register for the festival here.
Please note that Workshop, Research Spotlight@Exhibition and Sound of Streets - a Teesta Troupers performance need separate registrations.
