Responding to the needs of performing artists as expressed during IFA's Listening Posts in April 2020, IFA is delighted to announce Embracing the Digital Space. This is a two-part online workshop aimed at enabling dance/music practitioners and organisers to use online platforms for performing, teaching or generating work for the virtual space/virtual audiences. This is part of our efforts to support artists during this difficult time.

About the Workshop
With assembly and physical contact remaining out of bounds for a while now, artists are seeking to engage with audiences and students through online mediums. Beginning with a basic overview on generating digital work, Embracing the Digital Space will progress into providing an understanding of how to make professional work available for online audiences.

In Part I: Beginner’s Module to be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 between 03:00 PM to 04:00 PM on zoom, the participants will be introduced to the basic set-up of most commonly used devices; relevant apps that enable online interaction; audio and video set up; the idea of a digital auditorium/digital classroom for performing, teaching  and learning online; and monetisation through digital technology. Part II: Advanced Module on Tuesday, July 07, 2020 between 03:00 PM to 04:00 PM on zoom will cover advanced hardware and software set-up that would enable professional work making; multi-streaming apps; setting up a digital auditorium/digital classroom; branding and promotions for showcase of work; and creating work that can be professionally monetised.

How to Register?
Please register with your name, contact number, email and a short bio of 150 words by writing to sumana@indiaifa.org by 12:30 PM on Monday, June 15, 2020 for Part I and Part II. Do mention the module you would like to attend in the email - Part I: Beginner’s Module on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 or Part II: Advanced Module on Tuesday, July 07, 2020. If you would like to do both, please mention that specifically. All slots will be allocated on first-come-first-served basis during registration and a maximum of 25 participants will be accommodated per module.
