Darshana Davé
Darshana Davé has Master’s degrees in Clinical Psychology from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York, and Broadcast Journalism from Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts, and has varied experience in those fields before joining India Foundation for the Arts (IFA). In her earlier avatars, she has worked with the American criminal justice system as a therapist and is a trained rape crisis and crime victims’ advocate. She also has been a journalist in Gujarat, India and Boston, Massachusetts, in the United States (US), and has taught undergraduate courses in Media and Ethics at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York. For her Master’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, she made a 22-minute documentary that was screened at two film festivals in the US.
Darshana Dave has over five years of experience in donor and project management as Manager: Institutional Projects at IFA. She is responsible for fundraising from institutional partners, along with the Executive Director. Darshana works with corporate partners to create and manage artistic and cultural engagements of the Foundation. Darshana helps coordinate the management of the SMART (Strategic Management in the Art of Theatre) programme, capacity building programme for theatre practitioners. She also assists on research projects that the organisation undertakes. Darshana has attended International Fundraising Congress Asia 2017 conference in Bangkok, Thailand, organised by The Resource Alliance, UK.
She loves theatre, social media, rollercoasters, writing letters, and taking photographs. She is also interested in mental health, arts-based therapy, and suicide prevention.
