Love is on a plate and other stories: Project Showcase@IFA with Biswajit Das | May 28, 2026

How did a group of artists come together to ignite an independent comics movement in Assam?
Join us to listen to Biswajit Das and Sarang Dutta talk about their artistic collaboration in creating anthologies of one-page graphic stories and its unique circulation method to foster a culture of reading and build a comprehensive archive of local narratives. The comics in the six anthologies were created by young Assamese artists and traverse a wide range of themes: local food and kitchen stories, the identity crisis faced by city-dwelling artists, laments over tree cuttings, mini horror stories, anthropomorphic animal imaginations, and endearing stories about eating fish at home.
Biswajit and Sarang will be in conversation with John Xaviers, Programme Officer at IFA, unpacking their motivations, artistic processes and the value of collaborative processes in arts and art-making.
