  • Teachers Training Programme: This year two sets of training programmes in December 2015 and February 2016, were held at Kundapura, Udupi district and Shivamogga district respectively. For the 97 teachers who attended from Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, Hassan, Chikkamagalur, Uttara Kannada and Shivamogga districts, the following areas were focused upon:
    1) understanding arts education as a curricular area and art as the basis of education;
    2) integrating different art forms within the curriculum at the primary level; and
    3) implementing the teaching and learning of different art forms in the classroom. There was also a series of discussions that addressed key elements in bringing arts into the classroom and methods of improvisation to enable efficient learning.
  • Master Resource Programme: This year we organised a master resource persons training workshop in association with NCERT New Delhi and DSERT.  The art-integrated Master Resource Persons’ capacity building programme was piloted from July 22 to 31 in Bangalore. Here, 50 pre-trained government school teachers, DIET lecturers and administrative officers received practical and theoretical knowledge.
