Reminiscences of Home: Project Showcase@IFA with Dhiraj Rabha | August 27-29, 2026

Reminiscences of Home is a multi-media installation by artist Dhiraj Rabha that reflects on the notion of home and memory of the community residing in a camp for former members of the United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) in Goalpara, Assam, where Dhiraj grew up.
The artist interrogates: what happened to the community members after they returned to mainstream society? What kind of challenges did they face while reintegrating? What has been the burden of carrying memories of the insurgency? Dhiraj also contemplates: how do they live with the haunting recollections of their past? Did they ever get to share their side of the story?
This muti-media installation was originally put together at the ex-Ulfa campsite in 2024. That site-specific installation, immersed in the camp, gave voice to the untold stories, bridging the gap between the insiders and the outsiders. In its present form, the installation artistically recreates the idea of ‘home’ for the community members through their memories and narratives, and combines archival material, interviews, audio-video, and physical structures.
Reminiscences has travelled to Serendipity Arts Festival (2023), Bengal Biennale (2024), Kochi Muziris Biennale (2025), and now in its present iteration, is at Sabha BLR.
The exhibition starts on August 27 at 07:00 PM. It will run for the next two days, August 28-29 from 10:30 AM - 07:30 PM. Dhiraj Rabha will be conducting walkthroughs of the installation at specific times on each day.
