To enrich the practice, knowledge, public access to, and experience of the arts in India, by providing strategic support for innovative projects and capacity building across the arts.
Vision Statement
IFA enriches the practice and knowledge of, widens public access to, and strengthens capacities and infrastructure in the arts in India, by supporting innovative projects, commissioning research and creating public platforms.
Beliefs and Values Statement
The arts are indispensable to individual and community well being. Support for the arts should be widely accessible without prejudice to class, language, religion or gender. It is vital to encourage reflection on the arts as well as reflective arts practices. Transparency, mutual trust and give-and-take must characterise the business of arts philanthropy.

We Support
Arts Practice - Projects and residencies that challenge and extend current art practices.
New Performance - Projects that explore new content and form in performance.
Arts Research and Documentation - Projects to enhance understanding of artistic traditions and contemporary art practices.
Arts Education - Awards, fellowships and workshops for school teachers to enrich education through the arts; research and seminars to strengthen advocacy for arts education.
Curatorial Practice - Projects that build capacity and create new frames of reference for the presentation of the visual arts and film.
Performance Infrastructure- PProjects that strengthen facilities and capacities for creating, developing and showing performances.
We also make grants that address issues of livelihood and sustainability in the arts, strengthen networks and support artists in adverse environments.
