Tanveer Ajsi has a Master’s degree in Art History and Aesthetics from MS University, Baroda and has studied filmmaking and editing at the Centre for Research and Industrial Staff Performance (CRISP), Bhopal.
He has served as Consultant, Publications and as gallery in-charge, Lalit Kala Akademi. He was visiting professor at the Department of Art History and Art Appreciation, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), New Delhi. Following this, he was appointed as curator of the MF Husain Art Gallery at JMI. Tanveer also co-founded a series of provocative, experimental performance pieces, titled Harkats, along with performance artist, Inder Salim. He sits on various Boards and Advisory Panels.
Tanveer is deeply passionate about theatre and has scripted and directed several plays while working at Bharat Bhawan, Bhopal. He has also been awarded fellowships by the Ministry of Culture; Ford Foundation; and J & K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages. His essays and columns have appeared in various Indian and international publications.
Away from work, Tanveer enjoys reading literature, poetry, and philosophy.
